Healthy Eating on a Budget Week 3

Oops. I forgot to post our meal plan last week. That’s probably because we didn’t plan and ended up spending way more than $50 on groceries… so I’ll just pretend it never happened. This week will be much better! We shopped at Aldi’s and Walmart and spent $30.61 at Aldi’s including tax and $14.59 at Walmart including tax. Our total then comes to $45.20. I did however have some things at home already that I did not need to buy this week such as eggs, maple syrup, sweet potatoes, arrowroot powder, and maybe some other things.

After missing a week of meal planning I feel really really silly for not doing it. Not only does it save money, but also time. We don’t wonder what we will be eating for dinner and I can typically prep for dinner between classes. Meal planning is a must for our family from here on out. Our grocery list for week #3 consisted of:

Aldi’s:

Frozen chicken breast (4lbs)

Spinach

3 cans of Tuna

Dijon Mustard

3 Green bell peppers

2.5lbs ground turkey

Chicken broth

1lb frozen green beans

2 avocados

blackberries

Honey

Walmart list consited of:

Pork shoulder (4.5lbs)

Romaine Lettuce

Rice Vinegar
